Stillness Of The Night (2016)

Life is like a whistle in the wind – a spirit that plays its melodies through human existence. This is why we celebrate All Saint’s Even with song. We remember our dead, reconcile ourselves with the incomprehensible and celebrate the eternal stillness of the night.

ARVO PÄRT: PASSION OF ST. JOHN

Live performance of Arvo Pärts St. John Passion (Passio Domini Nostri Jesu Christi secundum Joannem).
Maundy Thursday, April 17th 2014
Christians Church, Copenhagen.

Mogens Dahl Kammerkor fremførte Arvo Pärts Johannespassion i Christians Kirke Skærtorsdags aften 2014.

Selected movements from the concert:

Chorus: “Passio Domini Nostri Jesu Christi…”
Jesus: “Dixi Vobis, Quia Ego Sum…”
Jesus: “Ego Palam Locutus Sum Mundo…”
Evangelisti: “Et Misit Eum Annas Ligatum…”
Pilatus: “Quam Accusationem Affertis Adversus…”
Jesus: “Regnum Meum Non Est De Hoc Mundo…”
Pilatus: “Ecce Adduco Vobis Eum Foras…”
Evangelisti: “Et Exinde Quaerebat Pilatus…”
Jesus: “Mulier, Ecce Filius Tuus…”
Chorus: “Qui Passus Es Pro Nobis…”

The Light of Eternity

At this year’s traditional halloween concert, the Mogens Dahl Chamber Choir will celebrate the light of hope that is visible in darkness only.

With music by Weyse, Grieg and Sven-David Sandström, the program progresses from the light of morning to the fire of evening and concludes with the stunning Requiem by Gabriel Fauré which describes the eternal light and the singing of angles.
